Our Patron
ELIZABETH WATTS was born in Norwich and studied archaeology at Sheffield University, graduating with first class honours. She then studied music at the Royal College of Music, graduating in 2005 with distinction. In 2006 she won the Kathleen Ferrier Award and went on to win the Lieder Prize at the 2007 Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. She was awarded an Hon DMus by Sheffield in 2013 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Music in 2017.
She is now much sought-after as a world class performer in opera, oratorio and lieder, and many of her recordings have received critical acclaim. We are delighted that she agreed to be our Patron as she has close associations in Somerset and she and her husband have a house near Taunton. See Elizabeth Watts' website for latest news and future performances or follow her on Twitter @LizWattsSoprano. < Back to About Us |
