Are you thinking of joining us?
We are friendly choir and welcome singers of all ages and abilities. Membership is open to everyone with an interest in choral singing and new members are always welcome from all voices, especially tenors. We are a non-auditioned society. Some experience of reading music is helpful, but not essential. Our Musical Director, Laurence Blyth, provides advice and guidance in rehearsals on how to read the music we are using. We also provide useful practice aids for the works we are performing on this website. (See Practice Aids ).
To get an idea of our wide-ranging repertoire have a look at the list of our concerts since 2000 . If you are thinking of joining us, why not come along to one or two rehearsals at the start of the term to try us out?

Rehearsals

Our singing season commences in early September and generally ends in late March. We produce two concerts a year in November and March, with professional orchestral accompaniment and soloists. These concerts take place in St John the Baptist Church in Wellington.
We rehearse at Wellington Methodist Church from 7:30 to 9:30pm on Wednesday evenings. Further details and a map can be found below. We have ten or eleven rehearsals for each concert. Whilst we hope you will attend as many rehearsals as you can, we know this is not possible for some people with work commitments. We have a short coffee break in the middle of the rehearsal which is a chance to get to know people.
See Dates for the diary, for dates and rehearsal details.

Social and fundraising activities
In December 2015 a stalwart group of members went carol singing in Wellington and, despite constant rain, raised £116.21 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

We also hold social fundraising events. In 2014 members organised a very successful Burns Night, raising a considerable sum for the Society. In 2015, the Society's 75th anniversary year, members enjoyed a Hoedown and in 2018 the Society held a Quiz Night.
