Welcome to Wellington Choral Society. We’re a friendly choir with about 80 members, and in 2015 we celebrated our 75th anniversary. We perform two concerts every year with professional soloists and orchestra, in late November and late March, usually in St John’s Church, Wellington. New members, with an enthusiasm for choral music and who love singing, are warmly welcomed for all sections. There are no auditions, but some sight reading ability is helpful.
Our Spring concert on 25 March at St John's Church was well attended and the choir was on good form, thanks to Laurence's hard work and patience with us in rehearsal. The audience especially enjoyed the superb organ accompaniment of David Davies as well as having another opportunity to hear the wonderful voice of soprano Héloïse West. Thank you to everyone who came, and for generously supporting our retiring collection for the Wellington Stroke Club.
On 24 June we hosted a CHORAL WORKSHOP on Vaughan Williams' A Sea Symphony directed by our MD, Laurence Blyth. Choral singers from our sister choirs Exeter and Exmouth choral societies joined us, as well as singers from as far afield as Dorset and it was a wonderful opportunity to meet them and make the journey of discovery of this exciting work together. We all enjoyed the day and are very grateful to Laurence and to our accompanist for the day, David Davies.

The concert is sponsored by The Vaughan Williams Charitable Trust and there will be a retiring collection in aid of the RNLI.
