Our Music Director, Elizabeth Hayley, took up the baton with us in 2005
In 2007 Elizabeth had the honour of becoming a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts

Elizabeth has been Musical Director for Taunton Operatic Society for shows including ‘Me and My Girl’, ‘Anything Goes’, ‘The Mikado’, ‘Hot Mikado’, ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ and 'Yeomen of the Guard’
In October 2005 she gave a series of highly acclaimed master classes/recitals at Ridley College, Toronto to where she returned in 2007.
Elizabeth has taught music scholars at Blundell’s School and continues to teach at Sherborne and Wellington schools.
As a piano soloist she has performed with many orchestras playing concertos by Mozart, Grieg, Shostakovitch, Mendelssohn and Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’. In November 2008 she performed Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto with the Somerset County Orchestra to great acclaim.

Sadly Elizabeth will be stepping down as our conductor at the end of this year.
The Society is now inviting suitably experienced candidates to apply for this post to commence from 1st January 2011. Much of the information about the Society and its activities will be found on this website.
