Wellington Choral Society is an amateur organisation whose members are mainly drawn from Wellington and the surrounding parishes.
We are a choir of around eighty to ninety members incorporating a wide range of age and abilities.
Our singing season commences in early September and ends in late March/early April. We aim to produce two main concerts in this season usually with small orchestral accompaniment and soloists. Concerts take place in November and March together with “scratch” events and workshops.
We typically have ten rehearsals per concert and these take place in Wellington Methodist Church.
Registered Charity No 1051501
Our main concerts and final rehearsals
take place in St John’s Parish Church in
Wellington.
Our funding is principally derived from members’ annual subscriptions and concert ticket sales.
We are well known for being a sociable and friendly society. We hold a buffet and drinks party shortly after each of the main concerts and organise fund raising events such as summer barbecues.
